(I say this knowing that the more I know shows how little I do know.) I am looking forward to implementing a number of the tools.

My PLC is looking at teaching study skills--beginning with organizational skills. I would like to see if I can work with Pageflakes for students to help them get organized.

Wikis are another tool I'd like to incorporate into my class when we are working collaboratively. I just need to come up with a plan.

Del.icio.us id another tool I'd like to encourage student to use to help them get organized.

Blogs right off the bat can be used for reflections and discussions on family and parenting issues.

I also want to introduce my students to Flickr. And from the hype I will be more excited about the other visual literacy tools we'll learn about in Thursday.

All and all this has been a great class!! Any use of the Web2.0 tools is being initiated by the students not the staff. We shake our heads wishing our students would stay away from "it".

I firmly believe the majority of teachers in our District have no idea what Web 2.0 is; moreover, know how to use in the classroom. Some have an idea about it some aspects of it; however, (as I learned today) their understanding is misguided at best. Others could care less about it or any other technology. Our administrator is goes through the motions of encouraging technology but doesn't follow through very well.

This is my first encounter with Web2.0, so sad to say it has no impact on my students either. This will change!

The title "Square Peg, Round Hole?" is a very appropriate title for the state of schools and technology today. This is a super exciting time for education. We, as educators must take the ball and run with it or it will take off with out us and our students. This is the future our students will be a part of, whether or not we teach it to them. We need to embrace this new challenge!
